Every article here started as a question I had myself and could not get a straight answer to. Not because the answer was unknowable, but because searching for it returned twenty pages that each confidently said something different, and none of them showed their work. That gap is the whole reason this site exists.
What qualifies me
Nothing, in the sense you probably mean. I am not a doctor. I am not a financial adviser. I hold no licence, no certification, and no institutional position in any field I write about. If you were hoping the person behind the site had letters after his name, he does not.
What I do instead is show my work. Every claim on this site is traceable to a source you can open and read yourself. When a study is small, or funded by someone with an interest in the result, or contradicted by a larger one, I say so in the article rather than picking the finding that makes for a cleaner sentence. When the honest answer is that nobody knows yet, that is what the article says.
This is a deliberate trade. You should not believe a claim here because I made it. You should believe it because you followed the citation and it held up. If it does not hold up, tell meand I will fix it.
How the site is organised
Wise Lane covers five areas: health, money, relationships, home, and productivity. They have less in common than they look. What connects them is the failure mode: these are the subjects where confident, unsourced advice is most abundant and most costly to get wrong.
Articles follow one order. The answer first, then the evidence behind it, then the situations where a different answer is better, and only then anything you could buy. If a question can be settled without spending money, the article says so and stops there.
What this site will not do
It will not tell you what to take, in what dose, or on what schedule. It will not tell you what to do with your money. Those decisions need someone qualified who knows your specific situation, and no article written for a general audience can be that person.
If a page here ever reads like it is telling you what to do rather than explaining what is known, that is a defect. Report it.
