How this site makes money, and the limits of what it can tell you.

How Wise Lane is funded

By affiliate links, and by nothing else.

When an article links to a product, that link may carry a code identifying Wise Lane as the referrer. If you buy after following it, the retailer pays this site a small share of the sale. The price you pay is identical either way. You are never charged for the referral, and you never pay more for having arrived through this site than you would have paid going direct.

Links go through a shopwiselane.com/go/ address before reaching the retailer. That exists so the site can count clicks without loading third-party tracking scripts into your browser. It records that a link was clicked. It does not identify you.

What that money does and does not buy

It does not buy a recommendation. Which product a guide recommends is decided before any question of whether a link to it will earn anything, and several recommendations on this site earn nothing at all. Where the best answer is a cheaper product, a used one, or not buying anything, the article says that.

There is a real conflict of interest in this arrangement and pretending otherwise would be worse than naming it. A site paid per purchase has a standing incentive to conclude that you should purchase. The defence against it is that the reasoning is on the page: if a recommendation does not follow from the evidence above it, you can see that it does not, and you should distrust the page accordingly.

Editorial independence

No merchant has paid for placement or seen a review before publication.

This site accepts no sponsored posts, no paid inclusions, no gifted or loaned review units, and no advertising. There are no display ads, no sponsored sections, and no arrangement under which anyone can pay to be covered or to change what is said about them. Requests to buy any of these are declined.

Health and money

This site is not medical or financial advice. It explains evidence rather than prescribing action. Decisions about your health or money should involve someone qualified who knows your situation.

No article here gives dosages, protocols, or instructions specific to one person's circumstances, and no article should be read as a substitute for a doctor, pharmacist, or licensed adviser. What is written here is general information about what the evidence shows. Applying it to you is a judgement that requires knowing things about you that this site does not know.

What is collected about you

Almost nothing. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, and no cross-site profiling. Traffic is measured with an aggregate, privacy-preserving counter that does not identify individual readers. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is used to send you the newsletter and nothing else.
